Alex Ferguson: Farewell, Cristiano Ronaldo!

The deal is completely done and dusted. Manchester United have today received Real Madrid’s £80 million offer in full payment. Cristiano Ronaldo also became an official Real Madrid player on July 1.

Speaking about the Portuguese fleet-footed player and his departure, Sir Alex Ferguson stated:

“Cristiano has been a marvellous player for Manchester United. His six years at Old Trafford have seen him develop into the best footballer in the world.

“His contribution has been a major factor in the club’s success in that time and his talent, his ability to entertain and his infectious personality have enthralled fans the world over.

“Everyone here wishes him well in his future career.”

Most of the players who fell out with Manchester United or Sir Alex Ferguson before leaving the club apparently struggled to find their foot in their next club. Will it be the case for Cristiano Ronaldo?
