Cristiano Ronaldo Leads Portugal’s Victory Over Cyprus (0-4)in Euro 2012 Qualifier

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice and helped the team win 4-0 over Cyprus in Group H match for Euro 2012 qualifier yesterday.

Coach Paulo Bento lowered his best squad in the match. Helder Postiga and Cristiano Ronaldo became the weapon to break the host defense.

Ronaldo immediately created the first chance for Portugal in 16 minutes. Unfortunately, his shot failed to hit the target.

Portugal got the advantage after Cyprus lost one of their player in minute 34th. Sinisa Dobrasinovic, Cyprus defender received a red card after fouling Postiga in the penalty box.

Ronaldo became the executor, succeeded in carrying his duty. The first half ended with 1-0 for Portugal.

After the break, Portugal again showed domination in the game. But until the mid second half, still no goals from both sides.

Bento tried to make changes, by entering Hugo Almeida in minute 75th. It finally paid off. At minute 82nd, Ronaldo doubled the score for the team. And 3 minutes later, Almeida score the third goal, and Danny Miguel from Portugal ended the match with the fourth goal in the last minute. It was 4-0 for Portugal victory.
