26 February 2010
Cristiano Ronaldo is at Real Madrid, a club sponsored by Nike’s fierce rivals Adidas.
The Portuguese superstar has long been under contract with Nike since his time at Manchester United.
Ronaldo is now the company’s number 1 model.
Now after featuring at the launch of the Mercurial Vapor Superfly II boot, Nike have decided to end up fears that Cristiano Ronaldo might have to sign for Germany company Adidas as a Real Madrid player.
In a world-record sponsorship deal with Nike, Spanish paper Marca reports that Cristiano Ronaldo would be earning €6 million a year until 2014.
This Nike deal will see Cristiano Ronaldo, who already earns €13 million tax free a year at Real Madrid, cement his place as the world’s best paid footballer.
