Ronaldo injury adds to a Real mystery
5 July 2008Cristiano Ronaldo has an injury to his ankle that requires an operation, according to Manchester United officials. This may hinder an already complicated transfer battle between Manchester and Real Madrid, as it will probably mean he will not feature in the beginning of the forthcoming season.
Is this not just perfect timing from Manchester’s point of view, a convenient story from Old Trafford or a desperate attempt to keep hold the best thing since George Best? But will it deter Real- will anything deter Real, from securing a deal for this injured player?
Which ever way it is looked at, history suggests when Real are ‘willing’ they are ‘able’, take Cristiano’s namesake from Brazil, they tracked him and eventually signed him despite being injured in the summer of 2002. Intriguing to say the least.
