Ronaldo named captain of Portugal

Yesterday Cristiano Ronaldo was named captain by Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari when he was handed former captain Luis Figo’s number 7 shirt.
Scolari choosed among four former captains who are in the squad, Nuno Gomes, Petit, Simao and Ricardo Carvalho.

Cristiano Ronaldo amazing player but i think he abit to young and chidish i would say ricardo carvalho should be the captain for Portugal because ricardo is more of a leader in my eyes but if ronaldo then so be it i Hope he does well for my country.

Thank goodness Luis Felipe Scolari has 5 captains to choose from. Cristiano Ronaldo was the captain the February 2007 friendly Brazil 0 – 2 Portugal at the Emirates Stadium. Portugal scored the 2 winning goals -after- Ronaldo was substituted by Scolari. Hopefully he can deal with the pressure in the UEFA EURO 2008 like he did in the Champions League final 2007/2008.
I think he really deserves this he is an awsome player and it was a brilliant performance in the final versus chelsea i wish i could meet him !!!
