Ronaldo scores twice as Man U triumph 5-0
28 January 2009
The English Premier League resumed on Tuesday with defending Champions Manchester United facing West Bromwich Albion away. With 12 players on the injury list, the pressure was on Tevez, Berbatov, Giggs and Ronaldo , to get the job done…
The Red Devils were already 3-0 up with goals from Berba, Tevez, and Vidic, and Cristiano Ronaldo added more to the misery of West Brom who had their captain Paul Robinson sent off just before half time.
The Portuguese winger scored on the 65th and 73rd minutes to round up Manchester United’s emphatic 5-0 victory against the Baggies – which took them three points clear above Liverpool.
It was the 21st time that Cristiano Ronaldo had a brace in a match for United. The EPL Golden Boot titleholder now takes his tally to ten goals this season, one goal behind Robinho and four behind Nicolas Anelka.
