Jose Mourinho should be proud of the boys, since this is practically the first time in Cristiano Ronaldo’s era that Barcelona gets eaten alive for almost the whole 90 minutes by Real Madrid.  I’ve never seen Victor Valdes running around like crazy throughout the game,  and couldn’t catch his breath because he had to work extra.

For captain Iker Casillas, he did a fantastic job by making at least 3-4 important saves. However, he barely sweats in the first half.

Of course, praise goes to Gonzalo Higuain who did an amazing opening goal in minute 11th, that helped boosting the team’s spirit.  Followed by Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal, 8 minutes later. And after that, the whole field was like a play ground for Real Madrid, as their counter-attack scheme worked amazingly well. 2-0 in Real Madrid’s lead in just 20 minutes.

However, Messi almost ruined the glory after he scored for Barcelona at the end of first half. Although I have to admit, it was actually a brilliant free-kick goal.

Still, Barcelona find it hard to play with only 10 men after Adriano got a red in just minute 28th for his brutal foul on Ronaldo. They need more than just a help from the referee.

Enough said…. Let’s just skipped to the end of the match, since both Real Madrid and Barcelona didn’t score a goal in the second leg.

After a long 45 minutes plus 3 minutes of extra time, the match ended with 2-1, with Real Madrid’s name as the winner.

It was a good game, and Real Madrid have won it fair and square. Hala Madrid !!

The Supercopa El Clasico first leg match will be held at Camp Nou tonight. As the opening game of season 2012/13, the match will determine which is the best between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The question is, will Real Madrid survive the game, knowing that they didn’t start the league season in a fancy way after a 1-1 draw over Valencia last week ?

As for Barcelona, it’s out of the question. They have succeeded in tasting their first league victory of the season by trashing Real Sociedad with an amazing 5-1 score. Then again, history still take side on Real Madrid. Statistically, from 5 Supercopa match, Real Madrid have won 4 of them. But we all know, it takes more than just a statistic to win a game against Barcelona.

As we all can remember from last Supercopa, the 5-4 score aggregate result for Barca’s victory came from a highly tension match, if we won’t call it violent. Especially the second leg at Camp Nou, where the referee threw a lot of cards, 8 yellows and 2 reds, which showed their brutality on the pitch. Yet the most annoying thing of the game was Jose Mourinho’s unexceptable behaviour over Tito Vilanova, for poking his eye.

But enough with that, and let us put more focus on the main object here, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. These 2 players are no doubt are the biggest reason why El Clasico become more interesting.

Besides Real Madrid vs Barcelona , El Clasico can also be called the clash of Messi and Ronaldo. However, based on the last Spanish league performance, Messi is one step ahead Ronaldo. As we can see on the game, Cristiano Ronaldo performance was just so-so, and far from dangerous. He played below his own standards and failed to create threatening shots.

For the disappointing performance, Cristiano Ronaldo made a statement :

“Physically, we’re not in our best condition. This is normal. We will be better, we’ll try to,”said Ronaldo. “We have tried everything, but we still have to reach the highest level we can.”

And while Ronaldo is still working out to get his performance back, Messi already shown his best by scoring 2 goals in the 5-1 winning over Sociedad, and helped Barcelona to stole 2 points in the standings. Not to mention the pre-season friendly matches, where Messi made similar action by scoring more goals.

This condition is tough even for Ronaldo, which all his action on the pitch will be putting in comparison by the press.  And what makes it even harder, is that the first leg clasico will be held at Camp Nou, a place that is like a playground for Messi and his teammates. The only thing that Real Madrid can do is to give it all out, with 100% of confidence and optimism.

In the end, apart from the heat between the two team, we still expect to see a fairplay and entertaining football match. And may the best team win.

On the second leg of Copa Clasico, Real Madrid was left behind with 2 goals from Barcelona at the first half. However at the second half, the White team started a fast manouver to strikes Barcelona.

Real Madrid was finally able to score through Ramos header, but the ref disallowed the goal unfairly. At minute 68th, Ronaldo brought hope for the team with his goal, followed by Karim Benzema goal 4 minutes later. Madrid kept pushing Barcelona to the edge, as the host looked miserable. Barca then rely on the referee to get the advantage on stopping Madrid’s move, with Sergio Ramos second yellow card 5 minutes before the match ended. Ramos received the card for making a save and clean challenge over Busquets. It was clearly a wrong judgement from the ref.

With the tie result of 2-2, Barcelona finally made it to the Copa del Rey semi-final.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored three minutes into the second half to help United trash Derby 4-1 in the FA Cup 5th round on Sunday evening. And to tell the truth, it is all due to the Reds†ability to in front of goal that the match officials did not make the headlines.

Not for the first time this season, Cristiano Ronaldo had a goal controversially disallowed. The reason: it was said to be offside.

Already 1-0 up through Nani’s screamer on 28 minutes, Manchester United were looking to get the crowd grow wild with a formidable display and a goals galore. Last weekâ€s match hero, skipper Ryan Giggs, played the ball through to Ronaldo after spotting him onside; the Star winger busted through the Derby defence before driving the ball across the line after checking if the flag was up or not.
Celebrations then went on as everyone thought he had effectively banged in United’s second goal of the game.
But the joy of the 24 year old player and of the rest of his team mates soon turned into confusion as the referee opted to cancel the goal after the linesman had made a remark, judging it to be offside.

The game’s fourth official, referee Rob Styles, eventually had to explained to the baffled visitors the delay of the decision, stating that the linesman wasn’t sure whether Giggs had flicked the ball or not. Either way, television replays proved the decision was wrong: the Portuguese ace was well onside and his goal should have stood up.

However, this ridiculous verdict from the referee made the man who dreams of reaching last seasonâ€s 42 goals tally more good than pain in one way or another. The infuriated Red Devil powered Manchester United to double the lead – this time for real – when his deflected rocket free kick fell to Gibson who lashed the ball past Derbyâ€s keeper.

Ronaldo then had a goal of his own later on, beautifully heading home Ryan Giggs†excellent ball from a corner. The Star winger had proven at this moment how good and influential he was on the day.

It looks like 2008â€s most decorated player, Cristiano Ronaldo, has the world against him. The Portuguese talisman is facing a difficult task trying to dazzle, with wrong decisions like that going against him.

The ruling out of clean goals – which seems somewhat like an act of conspiracy – is creating hurdles in Ronaldo’s road to success this year. On a Ronaldo fan point of view, discontent as regards to this injustice is the most obvious feeling. Now the question remains: will he manage to shame his oppressors come the end of the season?

Though missing quite a lot of chances to break the deadlock for the Red Devils, Cristiano Ronaldo looked also the most likely to head his team in front with his numerous excellent free-kicks – eventually punched away by Boro’s outstanding keeper.

But the story of the game was not only about the display and goals; The main subject was the referee’s performance on the night and Middlesbrough’s ridiculous defending.

Holding a big four for more than an hour is a remarkable thing for a side such as Boro and credits should well be given to their goalkeeper. But in which manner were Southgates’ men able to achieve that?

Not for the first time this season, Cristiano Ronaldo was the victim of many reckless challenges. Pogatetz, his marker had it wrong most of the times but suprisingly managed to get away unpunished by the referee.

Manchester were already denied a penalty when O’Neil handled the ball in the area but this incident wasn’t recorded by the officials.

Minutes later, the appeal was even more obvious. Pogatetz crushed Ronaldo to the ground forcing his fingers in the Portuguese’s neck. But once again, there was no reaction from the referee, as if nothing at all had happened.

This came much to the fury of Cristiano Ronaldo who then harshly complained to the officials at half time. An argument broke out between him and the guilty skipper Pogatetz down the tunnel; But it looked like nothing had settled as Pogatetz continued with his ridiculous challenges in the second period.

Ronaldo had to be substituted after 84 minutes.
